World War I

Commemoration

The fighting in World War I ended on November 11, 1918.  Over the course of the following two years, the Allied forces and Germany participated in peace treaties ultimately ending with the treaty of Versailles. That treaty came into effect in 1920.We will commemorate this historic event with the Remembering WWI event in Belgium, Luxembourg and France

This event will will take place November 8-15, 2021. The program will feature a special ceremony at the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery in France which will include commemorative music and speeches in honor of the brave young men who gave their lives for the cause of liberty in "The Great War." Groups will also have the opportunity to learn about the rich history and culture of the area as they explore Belgium, Luxembourg, and Paris.
